Suggest Treatment For Coronary Stenosis

I am a 59 year old otherwise healthy non-smoking female. I have 20 % Stenosis of Right Coronary 20% left main artery and my cholesterol is 178. I had a mitral valve repair 10 years ago and continue on Warfarin for continuous A-flutter. I am on Digoxin and atenolol also. Echo s confirm no changes in the valve repair or heart function. My dr wants to treat the coronary stenosis with statins to keep cholesterol levels below 80. I don t want more meds. Do I need to go that route just yet? Thanks!

Hi,

For coronary stenosis of 20%, there is no sense to treat it with stent at all. In this case stent and native vessel will have the same percentage of re stenosis and blockage. And in case of stent you should take extra medications.
I would advise you to follow healthy lifestyle , to eat diet less in animal fat, rich in fish oil, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, exercise much.
And everything will be OK.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
