Hello
Your wife is having COUGH from 7 years , she is also taking treatment for hypertension and also for seizures ( lamictal 150 mg twice in day ) .
She is also taking tossex cough syrup .
Losartan hydrochlorothiazide causes angioedema in few cases , while nefedipine produces nasal congestion and rashes .
Since you mentioned that cough is from 7 years but duration of treatment for hypertension is not mentioned so very difficult to say about the disease.
In my opinion this may be due to COR PULMONALE ( heart & lungs both involved ) .
2 the next reason of such cough may be due to Paroxysmal nocturnal dysponea or also known as cardiac asthma .
3 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis is the another reason of such symptoms .
I recommend you please consult a PULMONOLOGST and get his opinion at earliest.
Hope this information will help you.
In this case avoidance for mite , dust , pollen, fine dusting powder , hay sudden rise and fall of temperature is important because these are triggering factors of allergic bronchitis ( asthma ) .
