Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation

i have been constipated for 3 weeks now. I have been taking fibre pills regularly, I have tried several home remedies including olive oil, lemon juice, prune juice, I have tries 2 different laxatives and I have tried a suppository and nothing has worked. Is the next step an enema or is there anything else I can try?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If it is 3 weeks then yes, enema is needed. Visit a gastroenterologist to rule out root cause with a radiograph. If needed scopic studies CBC and TSH levels. Also, eat fruits, drink juices, don't take just one meal for a day. Take lots of water and do yoga, stretches also help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
