Suggest Treatment For Choking Sensation In The Throat Along With Difficulty In Breathing

Hi Dr this happens random. I may be sitting and watching tv and all of a sudden my saliva tickles my throat and this leads to choking. It is very scary. It could happen 6 to 7 times a year. When it does happen I just can t breathe. I am 65 years old in very good health.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many causes for your problem, if you have dentures, drink alcohol, have reflux, allergic, lesions in the throat, neurological feel choking sensation.

To prevent it eat small portions, do not use alcohol, sleep on the side. If it becomes worse consult with your doctor because you may have an undiagnosed health problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
