Suggest Treatment For Bulimia In A 22-year-old Woman

My daughter is 22 year old and has bulimia. refuse to be treated and binged and purged so much she literally could not get out of bed. I could not force her as she is 22 but she could not make the right decision right now. what would you recommend me to do? should I classify her resistance as depression? should I think about getting her katamine injection treatment first then treat eating disorder?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Bulimia is a kind of psychiatric disorder arising in a background of depression. It can be cured with timely and proper treatment. Take her to a psychiatrist at the earliest and start the therapy. She might require CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and drugs like SSRI.

Wishing her good health.

Thanks.
