Suggest Treatment For Bleeding In The Ears

Hi, My daughter is 16months old and has never liked having her ears cleaned after her bath. She isn t well at the moment as she has a cold so is extra moany and whilst moving around trying to avoid me cleaning her ears she moved her head towards me as I was going in with the ear bud. It kinda pushed in and she cried immediately. There a little blood on the ear bud but not enough to cover the whole ear bud. I cuddled her for 5minutes whilst she calmed down and used a baby wipe to wipe any blood away from inside the ear but after a few minutes it had stopped and my daughter seems fine now and is sound asleep. Should I be worried?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Your kids external ear canal or tympanic membrane could have injured...if its just external canal, nothing to worry just give her some pain relief medicine like paracetamol syrup,...if its tympanic membrane (ear drum) injury along with pain, she will also have ear block,..in that case i suggest you to consult your ENT doctor .. he will examine the ear using OTOSCOPE and confirm where is the injury and your doubt will be cleared....
hope i have helped you...
thank you..
