Suggest Treatment For Arthritis And Fibromyalgia

I have Fibro since mid teens as diagnosed by arthritis specialist in my early 30s. I am now 61 3/1/55. I have newer symptoms and high symptoms of earlier fibromyalgia. Bitten summer of 2014 took tick out; days later saw more tick and circle with ring around it. Saw dr. he said it was too late by 4 to 8 days to being medicated for Lyme. I now cannot move without hurting near all of my body and extremities. Once I move around slowly I feel a little better. Stop for few minutes, pain severe again. Lyme has not shown up in several blood tests at MD Drs offices. They do not know of the tests I have found out about to actually see this disease within me. Friend has Lyme and Fibro and had this extreme blood test done to find the Lyme within him. I feel near exactly as he has in past several months. Please inform me of this blood test and where to send it. Drs up here are playing stupid with me!!!!!!!!! Mark Rowe Maine

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

I advise you to take lyrica as it may help fibromyalgia by calming overly excited nerves that cause pain. Other medications include Duloxetine/venlafaxine as they are superior for treating fibromyalgia. All the above medications should be taken by prescription of your local doctor. You should have positive attitude in life, since you have normal MRI, bone scan and blood tests. It means that you do not have any chance of cancer till now. Don't try to overindulge in day to day heavy work. Have time for yourself and your family also.

You should do exercise regularly. At first, exercise may increase your pain. But doing it gradually and regularly often decreases symptoms. Appropriate exercises may include swimming, walking, biking and water aerobics. Physical therapy is often recommended to help ease fibromyalgia pain. IT is uploaded on youtube. Do yoga as this practices combine meditation, slow movements, deep breathing and relaxation. Yoga will also help in having sound sleep.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
