Suggest Treatment For An Incisional Hernia

I have an incisional hernia from surgeries to remove 11 tumors from my stomach and small intestines. I have stage 4 metastatic melanoma. I m fine now. I m in remission and taking no drugs. I live near Augusta, Maine. I need to find a Dr. to repair my hernia. My Oncologist thinks I should leave it alone, but it bothers me too much. HIs wife had one that grew back after surgery. I am a 65 year old female. What would you suggest? Is it safe for me to have this surgery? Could you recommend an excellent Dr. from Maine to perform the surgery? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you should go to visit the surgeon as soon as possible. You should repair the hernia and don't live it because it may be dangerous and discomfort.
You should undergo surgery again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
