Suggest Treatment For Absence Of Bowel Movement When On Prostatitis

I saw my urologist yesterday. I was given a 3rd new antibiotic for prostatitis (Bactrim) and Daypro. Tonight I can t pee or have a bowel movement. The pain is very severe now. Should I just go to an ER. I went last week and they sent me home after a CT scan didn t show anything.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

Absence of bowel movements or difficulty to urinate could be the side effect of this medicines which started for prostatitis.

You can take laxatives like syrup cremaffin plus or lactusoe 3 TSF at a bed time and drink plenty of fluids orally to have a effortless bowel evacuation in the next morning.

If abdominal pain is severe with nausea or vomiting then you should see your treating urologist immediately to diagnose the underlying cause.

Regards,
