Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain, bloating And Blood In Stools

I have gained 30 pounds over the course of a couple years. I thought it was menopause. I've never had a weight problem and used to be about 120 - 125 pounds - now I'm 149. My stomach is hard - and bloated. The only time it's almost flat is when I wake up. Now I have blood in my stool. If I eat salads or eat light - I feel better. As soon as I eat a heavier meal I have abdominal pain. I had a colonoscopy 2 years ago - a few polyps were taken off. I just had a sigmoidoscopy - it was clear. I exercise every day.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Gaining weight at menopause, pain in abdomen and bloating after food and as the day passes indicates that you have an intestinal problem. Since colonoscopy was with removal of polyps 2 years back so that I understand these to be non-malignant as you have not mentioned.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Watch for the stress or anxiety or the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance your problems and control the causative factors altogether.
Also send the stool and blood samples for lab and have additional management as per the reports.
Ultrasonography and CT scan of the abdomen will help further to see or rule out any specific problems causing the symptoms.
Since there is weight gains, it is better to get the tests of sugar, thyroid and kidney functions and get treated if there are any positive findings.
