Suggest Treatment For PCOS And Irregular Menstruation
I have pcos and absent menstrual cycle-usually get one every couple of years. Had quite a heavy cycle about ten months ago and since then have had a show every few weeks, usually lasting just a day or two. The last few months I've had spotting almost every day. Color is anywhere from bright red to almost brown. Not heavy at all but enough to have to wear a liner each day and usually more show in the mornings. I'm 42, never had children and am wondering if this is a sign that menopause has started?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood your concern. Your current menstrual history is suggestive of enhanced hormone imbalance. This is likely to be the reason for the menstrual disturbances you have been observing lately. Perimenopause could be a possible reason considering your age, but, other factors also need to be evaluated. I would ask you to see a specialist for a complete evaluation. Weight changes, infections, stress, pathological conditions causing weight changes, polyps of the cervix and endometrium, erosions etc., can be the several causes for this spotting. Investigations like complete blood picture, urinalysis, sonogram of the pelvis and hormonal assays are needed. Hope this helps.
