Hi, i am 30f, incidentally identified with mild hydronephrosys of right kidney during routine medical check up. My doctor has advised me to go for IVP n then for DTPA scan. There are deference of opinion by various doctors. Some has adviced me to go for pyeloplasty. Other doctors says that it is rare case of congenital mega calyces. My IVP and DTPA scanning images are uploaded herewith. Please advise.
As per my clinical experience, there are various clinical outcomes and management guidelines depending upon the level, extent of distal urinary passage involved, associated co-morbid conditions as diabetes, hypertension or others. There are various evaluations available for hydronephrosis of the kidney, which are: - Ultrasound of the both kidneys, ureter, urinary bladder - Prostate size and post void residual volume - Intravenous peylography - High resolution CT scan - Blood tests with serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen - Urine microscopy with culture body
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
