Suggest Remedy For Transversing Dysplasia With Stricture At Juncture Of Stomach
My Father had EGD today and we were told he has transversing dysplasia and a stricture at juncture of stomach. He had esophageal CA and had he esophagus removed & replaced with a portion of his stomach in Jan. 2 out of 16 lymph nodes were pos and no clear margins. The UGI shows that food is going wrong way and into his lungs. What is your opinion?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your father having problem of cancer of the esophagus that got operated and stomach tube made to join the gap. Upper GI Endoscopy showing traversing dysplasia and stricture at the junction of stomach and the food is going on in a wrong way into the wind pipe. This means that there is a broncho-esophageal fistula, and the changes are suggestive of a possibility of cancer still present as positive for dysplasia. Needs the following management. Go back to the Oncosurgeon for clinical evaluation, endoscopy and biopsy, and further management of radiotherapy, chemotherapy under the Specialists' supervision.
