Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Discharge Post Breast Reduction Surgery
in June of this year I did a breast reduction surgery however since then I have been experiencing redness, swelling and a discharge which is bloody and also has pus along the suture. I returned to the operating surgeon who on two occasions prescribed antibiotics. The antibiotics helped for about week only to have the problem return. At this point what would d you advise me to do?
This is a case of post surgical infection. It is likely that there has been a lapse in post operative care and that the antibiotics have to be continued for longer period to allow the infection to be controlled completely. Any formation of pus or abscess post surgery demands drainage by incision.so i suggest revisit your surgeon and you may have to restarted on antibiotics fora period of 7 to 10 days till wound heal completely .also local hygiene has to be maintained preventing any form of infection. regards. dr.sameer kumar
