Suggest Remedy For Stomach Ailments And Loss Of Appetite

Over the past several months my ability to eat has been lessening. I have always had stomach issues and have been to the dr. repeatedly. Originally I only vomited anything high in fiber or oils and dairy, due to this I saw a dr. who said I had too much acid(never have had heartburn in my life, nor ever vomited stomach acid) he put me on prevacid and tums. It became worse I then started losing every meal in about 5 to 6 hours completely undigested. Only water would stay put. I realized there was no more acid to digest anything, so I started with digestive enzymes which helped get me back to how I was originally. However now after eating about the amount of 1 egg I feel painfully full until I finally vomit most of it. The amount I can eat has been decreasing slowly over time. It isn t as if this has happened overnight. Yet I am afraid to go back to the dr, but I am losing weight like crazy and I didn t have much to lose to begin with, I am now getting dizzy spells etc. any advice?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of reduction in ability to eat, vomiting with anything high in fibers, oil or dairy. Doctor you though of increased acid production and put you on Prevacid and tums, started loosing every meals within 5-6 hours as undigested. digestive enzymes regained to the normal levels, but one egg did the same thing and caused all of it to be vomited. Now loosing weight, getting dizzy spells.
The causes look to be one of these or a combination of all:
- Pancreatic insufficiency
- Gastritis and particularly the lax lower esophageal sphincter.
- There can be associated diabetes or so.
I would advise you the following:
Upper GI endoscopy, look for stomach ph.
Manometry of lower esophageal sphincter.
Tests of stool for three consecutive days
Tests of blood for routine, diabetes, pancreas and liver function tests.
CT scan of the abdomen, will see for hepato-biliary and pancreas, intestines and so on.
The combination studies will help to get the basic diagnosis which then can be treated well.
I find this answer helpful
