Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat

Dear Doctor, I am an ex smoker who has recently caught walking pneumonia 2 weeks ago. I have, for the last 4 days been suffering with a horrific cough that has a burning sensation to it and a sulfur taste as well. The mucus also randomly shifts into my throat and burns upon contact with my thyroat, right by my tonsils and then the horrific sulfur taste occurs. A few times, my whole throat was closed up and I couldnt breath out or in. The color from this mucus and cough is usually a pea colored or pale yellow colored mucus.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I recommend using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen three times a day. I also recommend drinking liquids and rest. For a cough, you can use mucolytics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
