Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat

Hello, I am a 31 year old male with no medical history. I take no medications, NKDA and consider myself rather healthy. I have a family Hx of breast Cancer, HTN, and cardiovascular diseases. For the past week I have noticed that the glands located under my mandible on both sides have enlarged and are hard upon palpation. I also have a sore throat around the Adams Apple area. I have no other symptoms. No fever, cough, runny nose, rash or anything else. My voice isn t hoarse and I don t seem to have any trouble swallowing. I don t see any patches of white or redness upon visual inspection of my mouth or throat. Any advice/input is much appreciated.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore throat without any other sign and symptoms which could be due to streptococcus infection or infection of upper respiratory tract. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid eating spicy and heavy food. Maintain hygiene rinsing with antimicrobial mouth wash. You should take combination of levocetrizine along with amoxicillin for 3-5 days. Milk boiled with a pinch of turmeric taken at bedtime will be helpful for you. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should go for blood and sputum test. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Do warm saline gargles several times a day.
