I had an Achilles surgery on my right heel on 07-12-12 to fix the tendon. Surgery was successful and I don t have any pain. An infection (drainage) developed later on, on 08-16-2012 and my doctor (Orthopedic Surgeon for foot & ankle) prescribed Doxy-cycl Hycl 100 mg tablet, which I have completed 4-5 courses (14 tablets each time) by now. In between, my doctor performed another surgery on 09-12-12 to take the infected sutures (that had the bacteria developed on it) out. The drainage is way less now but has not stopped completely. I am on Dicloxacill 500 mg capsule (most effective based on the type of bacteria, according to my doctor) since 09-25-12 (28 capsules for one week). I am told by my doctor that the reason for slow recovery is due to the location being at the lowest level of my body (the gravity) and normal activity that I have to have for my daily routine. Though I have tried to limit my activity as much as I can, still complete immobility is not possible. It is now two and a half months and I am very worried about my recovery and slow recovery. What should I do, what is your recommendation? I have another appointment with my doctor on 10-02-12.
