There are many causes of pancreatitis, but all of them have the same basic treatment. If you are continuing to have pain, you should try to go back to eating clear liquids for 24-48 hours like they gave you in the hospital. If 48 hours of clear liquids do not improve your pain, you should go see your primary care doctor to make sure you are not having a complication of pancreatitis. Pancreatitis can cause cysts, as well as become infected, die, or cause a blood clot.
