I have an occasional irritation of the leg. It feels like an infected hair follicle There is a small pimple...little bumpwith reoccurring pusticle in the center It goes away for a while and returns. It stings and burns at times when removing pantyhose or sock. Should I be concerned?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for the recurring stinging and burning hair follicle with puss on leg. In your kind of cases the main cause of such kind of condition is either improper hygiene or excessive scratching or an increase in blood sugar level.
In your kind of cases I suggest my patients to get blood sugar examined and if required a course of oral antibiotics can be taken. I prefer to give either cefadroxyl or amoxycillin in proper doses. Wash your scalp daily and maintain a good hygiene.
All the best.
