Suggest Remedy For Persistent Symptoms Of Sinus Issues With Yellowish Brown Mucus

Hello, I had what seemed to be the flu. The only symptoms I have is a sinus issue. I was prescribed an antibiotic for 14 days. The symptoms still persists what else can it be? When I clean my nose the mucus is yellowish brown. I have not had any of that in a few days but when I am talking I still feel congested.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to sinusitis. When proper sinus drainage is blocked antibiotics won't be that effective. In such case an ENT examination and X ray of paranasal sinus should be done. Puncture and drainage of sinus might be required also. You can also use local nasal decongesants like xylometazoline sprays. Steam inhalation will be helpful also. Taking chewable vitamin C will help in faster healing also.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
