Suggest Remedy For Painful Vaginal And Anal Lumps In A Diabetic

I go to my obgyn every year for check up without fail, last year I started experiencing painful lumps near my vagina and anus which have gotten worse and never seem to go away. I showed this problem to my doctor during my visit, he did not seemed concerned. I have a kidney transplant and am a diabetic, I am really concerned. I am due for my appt again, question is how long is this going to go on.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Recurring occurrence of painful lumps in the anogenital area could be possibly due to an infection (abscess). Examination of the area and culture from any draining fluid can confirm the diagnosis. Management is with antibiotics and/or drainage of the abscess.

Please follow up with your primary provider for necessary management. Meanwhile, you can take Tylenol for pain. You may also do warm water sits bath every day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal,
