Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
Throbbing pain in outer ear is often due to ear infection but sometimes it might be related to excess wax deposition or sinusitis.

You may check routine blood counts with differential counts to rule out infection.

For symptommatic, relief you can take over the counter pain killers with xylocaine ear drops to be instilled in ear.

Consult ENT specialist again and get ear examined properly.

Regards,
