My name is Rachael , i'm 17 years old. I have had ear infections since i was very young. I've had 4 tubes in my right ear and 5 in my left. A few days ago I started getting a very bad earache in my left ear. It has gotten worse and worse. I woke up screaming and crying the past two nights. I went to the ER yesterday and the doctor said my eardrum was about to pop , and he prescribed me zythromax ( or something like that) and tylenol 2. Today I woke up with two earaches, but they were moderate. I showered and the water irritated my left ear to the point I was crying again ... SO ... i put some ear drops in my ear ( the ones you heat up ) , they BURNED in my ear , i felt the burning in my throat and my neck . I screamed in pain , it hurt extremely bad. So I went down to my family doctor in tears, and he said that he didn't see what was causing pain, and prescribed me tylenol 3 for pain and sent me home. I am still crying in pain and I dont know what to do !! It hurts more than anything I have ever experienced. I can hardly hear out of my left ear. I have been using a heating pad all day, nothing seems to work. please help me! why did it burn when i put drops in? and if he cant see anything that would be causing pain , then why am I experiencing such awful pain ? PLEASE HELP ! :'(
