Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have taken medication for high BP since 1999. In the past 2 weeks my BP has been getting very low, down to 84/43 one day along with four other low readings in the same day. My pulse has also been low, 47 with this reading and below 60 7 readings out of 12 in a 7 day period. Any thoughts.
You are long standing hypertensive on medications you have not mentioned deatails of medicine.
Since last two weeks your BP & Pulse is on lower side for which following possibilities are there- 1) Any acute illness may lower BP, but in your case you have not mentioned any symptoms. 2) Recent changes in BP lowering medicines, or changes in dose or any other medicine started recently. 3) Changes in drug metabolism abnormal Kidney or Liver function. 4) Thyroid problems.
So I will advise you- 1) Check your medicine type and dose. 2) Stop or decrease dose of BP lowering medicines according to medicine type and no. of medicine. 3) Check your Kidney function, Liver function, Thyroid function by doing blood test for them. 4) Frequent monitoring of BP and Pulse.
