Suggest Remedy For Insomnia With Panic Attack

31 year old female, I suffer with insomnia and I am trying to stop taking sleeping tablets which I have used on and off for years. I'm using valium 5mg to come off zopiclone 7.5mg and I have found them to be most effective if I take 5mg valium a few hours before bed however I am now having physical symptoms at night such as increased heart rate, big rollercoaster style flips in my stomach, feeling too hot and agitated and no chance of getting to sleep, feeling quite panicked and urgent need to get up out of bed. I have also been getting a dull ache in my liver region every evening for months which seems to be worse recently. I have used valium for the last two weeks instead of sleeping tablets but now I think I have rebound insomnia from the valium, I took the valium tonight at about 9pm and went to bed about 11pm, an hour and half later I had to get up as I felt like I was having some sort of panic attack or something. What should I do, take another valium? Take a sleeping tablet? I'm now freaking out about the thoughts of even heading back to the bedroom. Please help.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
villium 5 contain Tab Diazepam 5mg, a long acting benzodiazepine having very high addiction potential. Discontinuation of this medicine will be very difficult if you continue it's usage beyond 3 months. You are experiencing withdrawal symptoms on stopping it eg having panic attack, palpitation, perspiration, insomnia, agitation, restlessness etc. You should consult qualified psychiatrist in you locality to get substitute medication for controlling Benzodiaziepine withdrawal symptoms. Relaxation exercise, Breathing exercise, avoiding stimulant eg tea, coffee, nicotine containing substances prior to sleep, yoga, physical exercise will be having additional beneficial effects.
