Suggest Remedy For Heavy Bleeding During Periods

Hi Doctor! I was suffering from heavy bleeding and used to become a lot weaker after that. I had been in constant touch with my gynec for past three months. She advised me to have the uterus removed. I decided to go with it. I just had a Vaginal Hysterectomy on 13th Sept. Yesterday night, I got a small amount of blood while I was urinating. My doctor advised me to take Trapic MF if any bleeding occurs after the operation. However, while before the operation, taking Trapic MF had no result on me even if I took 4 tablets a day ( that was one of the reason to go ahead with the operation). Will it help now? What other medicines can help me stop it now?

Hello,

Trapic MF is a combination of two medicines that help reduce bleeding from the uterus and associated pain. However, its value is questionable once the uterus has been removed.

I would, first of all, recommend getting a gynecological examination done and look for any raw area or infection. Getting the urine checked for infection and the presence of blood cells may be useful.

On reading your question, it appears that excessive bleeding, which was making you feel very weak, led to the decision for hysterectomy. I would think that you must have tried various remedies that did not work to relieve the excessive bleeding.

Have you received a histology report about the uterus that was removed? It will give the diagnosis of any pathology that was there to explain the bleeding that you were having prior to the operation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sabina Hussain
