Suggest Remedy For Dry Cough And Pain In Chest

I have a dry cough, although it is only activated when I force myself to cough..but when I do cough, I get a burning pain right in the middle of my chest and if I cough too hard, I get light headed and my left arm shoulder area gets sore..is this even normal?

Hi thanks for asking question.

Noted you have mentioned dry cough.

Here you might have it simply because respiratory tract irritation.It might be by smoking or bronchitis like condition.Chest x ray useful.

Second you could have viral respiratory infection that can lead dry cough.CBC may show lymphocytosis if viral infection is there.


Don't over effort for cough.Excess cough might lead chest pain and sore.

For cough suppression you can take dextromethorphan tablet or syrup.

Garlic and onion good for respiratory tract.

If cough with fever and expectoration then work up for pneumonia or tuberculosis done by chest x ray and sputum examination.
