Suggest Remedy For Discomfort In Evacuating Stools In Elderly
I was taking anti tubercular medicines for 33 months in the early nineties for TB in spine. After that I have problem in evacuating stools. I spend around 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night to get a proper evacuation. Now I am 50 years. Day by day, the problem is getting worse. Fibrous food, laxatives have effect for 2-3 days but it becomes the story after that. Any suggestions????
It is seems to be case of constipation and it is nothing to take anything with the old history of Tuberculosis. I would advise you to have more fiber containing diet, increase the water intake, and most important is keep the regular habit of defecation, go every day for defecation even in absence of need of this.
No need to be conscious if you do not pass the stool still be inside do not try to exert the force (do not exert the force for passing the stool) no need to worry or panic if you do not pass the stool for couple of days, you can try stool softener like Isabgol powder at be time, It is advisable to get done the colonoscopy just to rule out intestinal pathologies.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
