Suggest Remedy For Cough And Post Nasal Drip After A Bout Of Cold

I had a cough, cold, ear infection. that was 2 months ago. I still have the cough and what seems like sinus drainage. Shortness of breath...I m obese by about 150 lbs so I just think the shortness of breath is due to my weight...should I be concerned.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The post nasal drip and dry cough can occur due to many reasons like upper respiratory tract infection ,sinusitis ,allergy and blockage of nose.

or proper treatment its extremely important to understand the underlying cause of it.So i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist (EAR,NOSE,THROAT) for proper examination and to find out the underlying cause .Doctor may order blood test ,throat swab test and X-ray.

After proper examination doctor can prescribe antibiotics/antiviral medicine depending upon the cause and decongestants .

For now take steam twice a day , take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl, do warm saline gargles and drink warm water with a spoon of honey mix in it .
