Suggest Remedy For Constipation With Motion Problems
Hello Dr, Hope you are doing good. My father whose age is 80 years have serious problem of constipation. The main issue he will not get the motions clearly. Even the potty will come in form of stool and in 3-4 days. He used to take anima earlier to get the motions clearly. is there any way he can get his motions clear every day. Thanks & Regards
I understand ur concern he needs to change his lifestyle which will be difficult at this age but u can motivate him following changes are being recommended 1. plenty of fluids 2. high fiber diet 3. regular bowel movements. he should try his best to pass stool daily esp in morning reflexes are good so initially it will take time and he will have to sit in washroom for quite sometime. 4. use laxative for initial few days . long term use of laxatives (stool softener)not recommended 5. he should be investigated for causes of constipation and detailed history will be needed like 1. any blood or mucus in stool 2. any history of diarrhoea alternating with constipation 3. history of weight loss
