Suggest Remedy For Blood Discharge While Suffering From IBS

For the past 7 years i have suffered from IBS I pass blood at least 7-8 times a month and have to go to the toilet at least 9-10 times a day. iv had a colonoscopy and a flexible sigmoidoscopy to look for signs of chrones disease and results have all come back clear but the symptoms still continue and I m passing more blood than usual. Is it just IBS flaring up or could there be more going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Recent colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy would rule out cancer or pre cancer lesions in colon because these would have been seen during the procedure.
This would be the most serious potential cause of blood in the stool.

These procedures would also check for inflammatory bowel disease such as crohns or ulcerative colitis.

It is possible that it is the IBS flaring up since these conditions have been excluded.

I hope this helps
