Suggest Remedies For Edema In Lower Legs While On Diltiazem
I was diagnosed with Afib about two years ago. I have taken Diltiazem since then and have no serious episodes while on the medication. About a year ago my Dr. Started me on savaysa and recently changed to xarelto. Since starting these medications i have developed worsening pitting edema in both lowere legs but the right is worse. Lasix seems to have little effect. Could the thinners be causing this?
It does not seem that leg swelling is a common side effect of the drugs you are having. In your case, it might be best to have an ultrasound of your heart first to see how it is functioning and rule out heart failure as a cause of your swollen legs. Other tests such as liver function tests and kidney function tests will need to be done as well.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
