Suggest Prognosis For Patient With Neuroendocrine Tumor
sir i would like to know about the prognosis of neuroendocrine tumor of pancreas patient has already received 6 cycles of depot octreotide and still has progressive disease..... patient requires stent change 2 monthly if not done develops obstructive jaundice due to pressure effects..... oncologist says theirs no medication as such.... for the same..... all drugs r under trial

I can understand your concern regarding to this patient.
When the endocrine tumor responds well to octreotide, than the prognosis is better, but when the disease is progressive, despite of the treatment , that unfortunately the prognosis is not good.
To say the percentage of the life for one year, the exact stage of the disease should be known.
Probably a specialized center in neuroendocrine tumors may try the drugs that are actually in trial.
