Suggest Prenatal Vitamins To Be Taken During Pregnancy
Hello sir/mam After how many months of pregnancy it is advisable to take iron,folic acid and calcium tablets and names of those tablets? Since it is already 3months passed in pregnancy, we went to our Dr. for a visit as a routine check up but he was absent and we sent the tvs ultrasound report over his whatsapp and he wrote us some medicines 1)gestofits sr 300 2)eco sprine 75 3)hucog 5k injection 4)doxinate plus 5)omez 40 But we cannot see any tablet related to iron, folic acid and calcium as above prescribed medicines. Please suggest what should we do now whether we should continue these medicines as prescribed by Dr. or do we need to visit any other doctor.

As you are already under the supervision of your physician thus under no circumstances you should add/delete or change any drug without first consulting with him, I at most can let you know about the precautions and dietary instructions which one can follow:
- Routine antenatal checkup to be done every month for 7 months are complete. Then every 15 days in last 2 months in which your gynecologist will record weight, B.P., look for edema & pallor, palpate the height of the uterus
- Routine Investigations like Hemoglobin, blood group & Rh
- Urine albumin: every month
- Ultrasonography: in 5th & 9th month
Antenatal Advise:
- well balanced food, with extra proteins.
- plenty of green vegetablesm& fruits.
- regular exercise like walking.
- adequate rest.
- a daily bath with special attention to the cleanliness of vulva.
- avoid long journeys in the first trimester and last 2 months. If unavoidable prefer the train.
- avoid sexual intercourse in last 6 weeks, to prevent ascending infections.
Avoid any medications except Iron, calcium, paracetamol and antacids. No newly introduced drugs should be given during early pregnancy.
