General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Abdominal pain with bloating can occur due gastritis, gastro-esophageal reflux, appendicitis or diverticulitis. Rarely, cardiovascular problems can also cause upper abdominal pain. Abdominal ultrasound, complete blood count and ECG should be taken to identify the cause. I suggest you to visit your doctor since your symptoms have not subsided in a week.

Proton pump inhibitors should be taken half an hour before food if symptoms are due to gastritis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
