I have been diagnosed with microscopic colitis. B/4 that I had severe constipation from opioid use for chronic pain.. And given Amitiza. I also have a Nonspecific autoimmune disease. Can you help me with what caused the 180 degree change in my colon? Is it med, diet or disease related? What diet should I follow or meds to take? Tried Budesimide but didn t notice any change. Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of microscopic colitis, had constipation from opioid use for chronic pain, taken Amitiza and also have non-specific autoimmune disease.
Wants to know the reasons, what medicines, diet and to be followed, tried budesonide but no effects.
My thoughts.
It is the autoimmune character that will cause all the problems you have and hence the treatment will depend upon the use of oral steroids, immunity boosters and symptomatic treatment.
Foods: this is a vast topic as the foods, beverages and anything we eat is varied from time to time, have different characters, work differently at different times. The best way is the observation of yours, friends and family members , to make a physical list of what you eat or drink and write down the effects. This will find out which work for you and which affect you adversely and to stop them altogether.
