General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern. if you have just fever are generally doing well and have no other symptom related to fever than it is OK to wait 3 full days. Most of fevers are due to viruses and go withing 72 hours. Makes sure you take paracetamol to help with fever and if not helped by it you can have ibuprofen, it will be OK with the baby. Make sure you drink plenty of water and rest as possible so you can recover quickly.
If fever lasts longer than 72 hours or you have other symptoms like breast pain (mastitis, which is breast infection has to be ruled out) or cough (respiratory infection can be a cause) or any other symptoms you might have you will need to see a doctor and have proper diagnosis and treatment.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question.
