1. is there fervex - cold & flu in canada? 2. if not, is there a substitute for it? I'm having a bad dry cough (cough a lot) with no fever. What is the best medication to use to get rid of it. Thanks I didn't know it's chargeable. Then don't worry about it.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of extreme dry cough which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. You may have lung infection or bronchitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Take expectorants. Mast cell stablizers such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection. You should take raw honey as it will give you benefits. Steam inhalation is very effective for you. Consult ENT specialist without any delay. Doctor may order blood test and throat swab test. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestants and mucolytic agents.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
