Suggest Medication For Delay In Periods, cramps And Back Pain

Hi. I'm 20 and have had regular periods my whole life, always on time, always the same flow. My periods for July and August were late, VERY heavy, and accompanied with horrible cramps. Starting in the first week of September I started spotting, blood on a daily basis, sometimes heavier than others. Since September 9th I've been having heavy bleeding along with head aches, lower back pain, bad cramping, mood swings, hot flashes, and sore breasts.I went to the doctor and after a blood test (pregnancy and thyroid), and ultra sound, she put me on birth control pills for 2 days until my prescription for depo-provera came in to the pharmacy. The bleeding slowed for 12 hours, and came back. I went back to taking birth control on a daily basis which has caused other adverse side effects as in, more severe mood swings, acne breakouts (my face hasnt looked this bad since i was 16), fatigue, nausea, along with everything else i have been experiencing. Any ideas on what is wrong with me? effective treatment?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

If ultrasound and thyroid investigations returned normal results then this is most probably a hormonal imbalance. I would recommend hormone level checks and to start you on medications to stop the bleeding immediately instead of hormonal supplementation, like pause MF.

Please also get your hemoglobin levels checked as anemia can result from such long durations of bleeding.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
