Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Recurrent cough and cold in children should be investigated for lung infection and asthma.
So better not to give any drugs by your own and consult pulmonologist.
He needs clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
He might need inhaled bronchodilator (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone). Oral combination of antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast) is also advisable in his case.
So better to first diagnose him and then start appropriate treatment. Don't give haphazard treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
