Suggest Dosage Of Antibiotics To Be Given To A Child For Recurring Fever

we are indian family recently in the US and my kid has fever with cough and cold since last five days. so far I had given Maxtra 3 ml / 3 times and Benadryl dry cough 2.5 ml 2 times. For fever we have used ibuprofen 3 ml each time he has fever now only once in night needed ibuprofen since last two days. no Antibiotic is been started yet though we have Advent Forte 457 mg syrup with us. Can we start using this antibiotic since I see the cough cold is not subsiding and fever is highly likely again tonight. If yes what dose to be given for my 4 yr old kid weight 14 kg.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your kid is having recurring fever which is due to impaired and reduced immunity of your body. It is due to increased susceptibility of body getting infected. Need not to worry about it. Take antipyretic drug such as paracetamol and along with that do tepid sponging in between depending on intensity of fever. You should take these medications in mild dose. Visit general physician once and get it examined to find out the cause of fever after thorough investigation. If required request your physician for any lab tests which may be required and start treatment as per that. You can take Crocin as well every 4-6 hrly. You should take Meftal P tablet as well. If symptoms still persists go for blood tests and then start treatment as per that. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. You should get immunoglobulin level tested as well.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
