Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Doc Sir, My wife aged 23 years has been diagnosed as POTTS Spine (Spine TB) destrcution of endpoint D8-9 as per MRI report , is there any restriction on diet side? Pain at back still persists which is more severe at night time, Why so? . How long does it take to recover so that she is able to do her daily routines.
- Follow the medication regimen very strictly for the entire duration. Potts spine causes destruction of the vertebrae. This is why there is persistent pain. There is no diet restriction. Post the medication, the doctor who has been treating you will evaluate whether she needs any surgery to clear out the infection. She will get back to the point where she is able to return to daily routines. It can take a few months (6+ months) to get back to a completely normal state.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
