Suggest Cure For Persistent Dry And Non Productive Cough

Hello doctor! I am Mani from Kathmandu. I am 46 years old and suffering from dry and non productive cough since last 1 and half months. I tried some medicines like benadryl, honey tus, ginger water and so on. I still have irritating cough at day time and more during meal time. I had similar cough last year during cold winter like this winter. Could you advise me on this please? Thanking you Mani

Hi,
It seems that you might be having chronic allergic bronchitis producing dry cough.
Take some cough sedative medicine like Corex for few days.
Many a time Eosinophilia does cause this type of chronic dry cough.
Go for CBC and Eosinophil count to rule out Eosinophilia.
Go for deep breathing exercises daily.
Avoid dusty, humid atmosphere.
Stop smoking if you are smoking.
Ok and take care.
