Suggest Cure For Congestion, Sore Throat, Fever, Headache And Fatigue

I am having congestion, sore throat, slight fever, headache, and am feeling very fatigued. I think it is more than a common cold. Is there something a doctor could give me to get over this more quickly? The symptoms started a little more than 48 hours ago.

Hi,

If the fever is not high grade, and no yellow nasal discharge or sputum, try taking paracetamol three times a day and antihistamine like levocetirizine 5mg tab at night for 3 days. Probably this is a viral upper respiratory infection that will come down in 2-3 days. You can seek doctor's help incase it is not.

Also, take bed rest, drink plenty of fluids, and have a soft diet. Steam inhalation can help relieving nasal and sinus congestion.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
