Hello there. Thank you for using HCM.I totally understand your concern but don't worry, we can do something about it.
As you describe, I think we are dealing with a rhythm problem. If you experience
palpitation or regular beats when someone skips we are talking probably about exstrasystolyes. This are escape beats, originating from a electrical impulse different from that of a normal heart beat. This can originate from different parts of the heart, may be rare ore very frequent. You feel this palpitation, like a beat is skipping you may feel
anxiety or like you get out of breath. Sometimes this
extrasystoles are normal. They are triggered by stress, use of Coffey or caffeine products. So, if i was your treating doctor, as this symptoms are interfering in your daily live i would recommend to do some examination. First of all an
electrocardiography to verify what are we dealing with. To see your heart rhythm. Than I would like a blood and biochemistry examination including your thyroid hormones. Sometimes
anemia or
hyperthyroidism may cause exstrasistolic ectopic beats or a simple
tachycardia, when your heart beat is above 100 beat/minute. I would recommend you a Holter monitoring for 24 h to see what happends whit your rhythm, do you realy have ekstrasistolies and how much are they. Only then we can talk abut medications. Till than I recommend you to avoid substances that contain caffeine. Sometimes reducing this products, stop cigarette if you smoke, may reduce this extrasystols. But if you feel that your rhythm is completely irregular and chaotic or if your heart is running than I would suggest you to make an electrocardiogram in that exact moment to your nearest cardiologyst for a further help and medications.
I hope i was helpful. Wish you good health. Best regards
