Suggest Cause And Remedy For Itchy Clitioris In Elderly Woman

I had a very itching clitioris and it s driving me crazy. I took a good look under the hood and it s fire red. I took a q-tip to look for any discharge and discovered a bright pink discharge. I recently had my annual gyn test everything was ok. I m not sexually active. This is been going on a couple weeks. Behind the hood my clitioris is hard inside. I have no other problems. I m 55. Please help me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What problems you are describing could be due to fungal infection, which is relatively common after menopause.
Kindly wash the area twice a day using warm water and mild antispetic solution like Savlon. Apply Clotrimazole cream twice a day following washing and drying. To control itch, you can take tablet containing levocetrizine.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
