Suggest Alternative Medication For Severe Clogged Ears

I got water in my left ear after using ear drops (for outer ear skin condition) and also from the shower. After that, for almost a month my ear is very clogged, muffled, fluttering, hearing echo. One Dr gave me an ear wash to clean debris out of ear; One doc said I had eustachian tube dysfunction. I am using Nasacort and Sudafed. But nothing so far has helped. Maybe it is otitis media and I should try antibiotics ? Thank you.

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have clogged ears which are not getting better with medicine . Well there ca be many reasons for clogged ears like wax buildup , chronic infection like upper respiratory infection , swimmer's ear or acoustic neuroma . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper examination . Doctor may examine with otoscope and order CT scan , throat swab test or viral culture test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin or penicillin ) at least for 10 days , decongestants and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also place tubes in ears . For now keep your ears dry and apply hot compresses to external ears .
