Suffer From Episcleritis In The Eyes. Sore Eyes. History Of Raynaud S Disease And Under Active Thyroid. Are These Related?

it appears that i have episcleritis in both eyes - though the optician was not certain in her diagnosis. I have had this now for nearly a month and am concerned that I have to wait to be referred to an eye hospital. Tonight my eyes are pretty sore. Should this be still continuing after a month? Should I be seen urgently. I have also just suffered a couple of miscarriages - could the two be linked in anyway?

My family suffer from a variety of autoimmune diseases. I suffer from under active thyroid and raynauds
- is this linked?

If your 'sore eyes' is associated with pain on pressing the eye, discomfort in bright light or on looking at a light source ( eg bulb, tube light, street light etc) and redness all around the cornea... it may not be just episcleritis. Its possible that the Optician may have mistaken mild scleritis for episcleritis. With symptoms persisting beyond a month, it is highly advisable that you consult an Eye MD. The earlier eye inflammation is recognised and treated, the better and faster the outcome.
TC, regards.
