Sudden Outburst Of Flat Red Spots, Itchy, Spreading. What Could Be This?

Hi I am a 17 year old teenager, and I recently have had a sudden outburst of flat red spots that are slightly itchy on my back and torso. they seem to be spreading towards my legs and lower neck... they are not very itchy, however, but they amount seems to be increasing. I do not have a lot of acne normally on my face or body. I believe I have gotten a chicken pox booster shot as well. What could it be?

Hi thanks for writing here.Sudden onset of flat red spots suggest pitryasis rosecea. It is a type of post viral exanthem. It is usually benign and disappears in 1 to 2 weeks time.It does not require any treatment. You can just apply a simple emollient over it.Other diagnosis is guttate psoriasis,it requires treatment from a dermatologist. So my advise is wait and watch for 1 week and consider a dermatologist if rash does not subside.Take care.
